ABOUT THE ARTIST
Michigan artist, Franklyn J. Roosa, loves to paint boats, lighthouses, and seascapes. "I attribute this to the fact that I grew up messing about in boats and I think my art is a gift from God. I hope to continue to show HIS creativity through my work."
Franklyn and his wife, Valerie, live in West Olive Michigan and they like to attend as many art shows as possible throughout the summer months, talking to people about their art and faith. His wife Valerie is the author of the novel "True Colors" already in print, and "Shadow on the Water" coming in 2008.
"Although formally trained at art school, I often break the 'rules' and let my paintings, which are mostly oils, become a living expression. Not just a record of what I see, but more of what I feel."
Living in West Michigan, along the coast of beautiful Lake Michigan, givesFranklyn an endless source of inspiration for his paintings.
Please check back each season for Frank's new releases, commissioned work, and book illustrations.
